“Memorial Yellow Lab Drawing”

(Completed in Graphite)

This was a privately commissioned piece for a collector who had recently lost her best friend (Houston). She supplied me with a number of "ok" pictures that made for a more difficult job. We discussed some specific points about her dog and settled on what my idea was that I felt would yield the best results from what she had for me to work with. Glad to say that she was VERY happy with the results.

Just a suggestion - If anyone out there is hoping for a portrait of their dog at some point, I encourage you to photograph your dog outside in natural light as opposed to in the house with the flash. Also, get down to their level! Shots taken looking down on your dog are never as good. I prefer being at or below eye level of your pet. Remember, the better your photos the better the results!
