I have done many donations for non-profit organization banquets across my home state of Ohio. My donations are more detailed and complete than a sketch but less resolved than a finished drawing. I use them for studies much like most artists use sketches. I love the way that a new fallen snow hangs on everything. It’s amazing to me how different things look when you get down at ground level. The background idea for this image came from the field at the edge of my yard. I love practicing new ideas and sketches like this are the perfect place to try them out before engaging in a major painting.
