2005-06 Ohio Original/Printed Remarque
2005-2006 Ohio Remarque

This Remarque was originally painted in Acrylic. It is featured at the top of Adam's Medallion Edition Ohio Duck Stamp Prints. Adam painted the original feather in color but had the idea of printing it in black and white at the top of some of the prints. Adam then colors each one by hand by doing an acrylic wash over the feather with a yellowish-orange mixture of paint.

This is the first time that Adam has offered any of his prints with a hand colored printed remarque. The Ohio Duck Stamp prints that include this unique work of art will certainly go up in value better than others without it.

Winning the 2005 Ohio Duck Stamp was a very special thing to me because I've grown up hunting here. Also my Fiancee "Janet" and I are getting married this year and the wood duck is her favorite duck. So it's exciting for the both of us to have her favorite duck on the Ohio Duck Stamp this year. Like with the Federal Duck Stamp, I wanted to do something to commemorate winning the Ohio ...that's why my publisher and I decided to print the feather at the top of a small portion of the prints. The wood duck has many beautiful feathers but I decided to use a feather from its side pocket (or flank) because it is perhaps the single most recognized feather from the drake wood duck.
